So after doing some digging, I found out that for Win 10 you have to be using Driver v2.1.0.26 which was released in 2016. Located the driver on this website:

1) Download driver, save it onto desktop for easy access
2) Start 'Device Manager'
3) Click 'Network Adapters'
4) Right Click 'Qualcomm Atheros AR 8161...'
Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller - there are 3 drivers found for the selected device, which you can download from our website for free. Select the driver needed and press download. Download Qualcomm Atheros network driver. Drivers for many devices with Qualcomm Atheros chipset, for example Allied Telesyn, Belkin, Cisco, D-Link, Gigabyte, HP, Linksys, Netgear, Proxim Orinoco, SMC, and more. Qualcomm Atheros AR8171/8175 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
5) 'Update Driver'
6) Click 'Browse my computer for driver software'
7) Click 'Let me pick from a list...'
8) Click 'Have Disk'
9) Click 'Browse'
10) Locate & Select the files that have been downloaded (if its saved onto your desktop, you should be able to scroll down to see that there's a file called 'netl1c63x64' setup file (I'm running 64bit btw)).
10) Update the driver and mine worked instantly!! Took me few hours of trial and error with various drivers... Hope this helps!
UPDATE 10/2/2017
Scratch that, it worked fine last wk and when I logged in this morning, stopped working all over again. Back to square one....
Just wondering if this hardware is even compatible with windows 10 at this point.
